Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo ben Yitzchak) is considered the premier Torah commentary. He lived in Northern France from 1040-1105. His commentary is very concise and focuses on clarifying the plain, simple meaning of the text. He often cites Rabbinic teachings from the Midrash and Talmud in his commentary.
This class will be an in-depth exploration and analysis of selected portions of Rashi’s commentary (using an English translation). Begins on Monday, October 26, 8pm Eastern Standard Time.
